Do I have to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score? Can my TOEFL be waived?

Last Updated: Dec 03, 2019 10:10AM EST
A TOEFL or IELTS score is generally required for all international students, regardless of the student's undergraduate language of instruction. You can review our list of countries for which a TOEFL or IELTS score is required.

You are exempt from the TOEFL/IELTS score requirement if you hold (or will hold) a degree from an accredited institution located in the United States of America, Canada (excluding Quebec), United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Ireland, South Africa, Nigeria, Uganda, Australia, or New Zealand.

You do not need to submit any extra documentation to waive your English language requirements.
The Admissions team will manually waive the TOEFL in the application system when we review your application.

You may complete and submit your application before you take the TOEFL or IELTS.

Please instruct ETS to send the official TOEFL score report to us at institution code 3665 (no department code is required).

If you took the IELTS, please upload a PDF of the official score report directly to your application under the Test Results section, in which the Test Report Form (TRF) number is visible. This number can be found in a text box towards the bottom right of your IELTS score results page. If uploaded correctly, we will verify your IELTS cores online and you will not need to send hard copies of the score report.
